Late night tinkling from a Berlin basement - peace at the heart of the city.
The third episode of a trilogy – starting with a brace of quizzical electronica soundscapes "Fragen" (question), then "Rufen" (call) and concluded with the wholly acoustic “Antworten” (answer).
Utilising a pair of Steinway grand pianos - "Antworten" in the basement of the Berliner Philharmonia, with only the occasional accompaniment of sound bowls, the duo of Hans Joachim Roedelius and Onnen Block overlay each other’s minimalistic clusters of semi-arpeggiated chordal patterns into intriguing and ever-changing patterns.
